Abstract
To compare the safety and effectiveness of transesophageal atrial pacing and direct current cardioversion for medically refractory atrial flutter, we conducted a prospective, randomized clinical trial, enrolling 21 patients. Conversion to normal sinus rhythm was similar in the two groups, but post- procedural arrhythmias were more frequent in the cardioversion group.
