Abstract

The application of acoustic agglomerator as a preconditioner for pressurized fluidized-bed combustion application has been investigated. The acoustic agglomeration kernels in various regimes are evaluated for various parameters, including acoustic intensity and frequency, gas stream temperature and pressure. It is found that the turbulent interaction is the dominant process for particle agglomeration. A numerical computer program has been developed and good agreements have been found between experimental data and theoretical predictions.
