Abstract

Methods for growing the fungus, Dactylium dendroides, and for purifying the secreted protein, galactose oxidase, are described. Fungal growth takes 1 week. Enzyme purification takes 2 days and yields 70 mg homogeneous enzyme per 25 liters growth medium.
