Abstract

The use of a training procedure designed to increase recording of three components of the Problem-Oriented Medical Record was assessed in three replications of a multiple baseline across behaviors design. The components included the statement of the problem, the design of a treatment, and the design of an evaluation strategy. Results indicate reliable increases in recording the three components, with no relationships between changes in the components. Implications of the problem-Oriented Medical Record for improving patient care and accountability are discussed.
