Abstract

A new criterion for stability of monic real polynomials with respect to the unit circle is developed from a purely geometric point of view. This criterion is connected to the Schur-Cohn criterion resulting in generalizing the developed criterion to root distribution. Fundamental to the results is a geometric transformation related to the structure of the stability domain in the space of coefficients of the polynomial.
