Abstract
A set of case studies covering the range of engineering disciplines and content such as engineering analysis and design methods, engineering calculations, technical communication, ethics and professional issues is developed as the main pedagogical tool in Freshman engineering course. The case studies represent a mixture of historical engineering solutions, forensic analysis and the solution of current and emerging problems. Students are exposed to a consistent and engaging teaching approach by using case studies to deliver all content. It also offer several advantages over lecture-based instruction.
