ONE OF THE LARGEST MODELING CHALLENGES IN UNDERSTANDING CONCURRENT FLAME SPREAD IS THE COUPLING BETWEEN THERMAL AND MASS TRANSPORT PROCESSES ALONG WITH CHEMICAL KINETICS NEAR THE SOLID-VAPOR INTERFACES.
