Description
The American Southwest is home to nearly forty basaltic volcanic fields that collectively contain more than 2,000 Quaternary volcanoes, including many that have erupted relatively recently (past 50,000 years). Most of these volcanoes are considered to be “monogenetic” (i.e., they erupt only once), and they generally produce relatively small volume eruptions (
